Shelaugh, If you still have that vest my partner would trade you for her women's small. Only worn a couple times. Do you have any medium jerseys you want to trade? You can call or text. Eric

Re: 2015 spring kit order
I guess I missed it but to tell the truth I tried twice and just couldn't do it. If I have to watch an instructional video to get a jersey it's just not worth it. Could this process be simpler next time?

58cm CAAD9 DuraAce/ultegra road bike
Some of you may have noticed my new ride recently. I have to make room in the shed so my trusty Cannondale is up for grabs. This bike still looks and rides great. Full details are in the usedVictoria ad here: http://www.usedvictoria.com/classified-ad/Cannondale-CAAD9-road-bike---58cm_22531003 For tr...

Mike - I'll be there too. Family day for me means enviting Dolly for coffee at the end - still wounded with a broken hand. See you S-Bucks.

Mechanical
We couldn't fix this one. Still can't believe I didn't hit the deck this morning when my crank broke on the second little hill of KGT. Everyone who saw this was quite surprised as was the shop mechanic. Thought I'd post a picture to document the catastrophic cabon fibre failure of my 4 year old FSA ...

Paula, You must have taken notes. Next time you attend a weather seminar envite me along as I am also fascinated by this stuff. I understand these principles but don't recall such an unusually heavy patchy frost. I think the inversion effect was particularily prominent this AM. Because of the ground...

Barton,
I'll order one with you if the order has not gone in yet.
I'm quite happy with my current 300 lumen niterider but I have wanted more power. I can pay you Tuesday if you order one.
Thanks,
Eric

Re: Post-ride Coffee Enhances Glycogen Uptake
We have had this discussion before on the forum but I was unaware of the dose used in the quoted study. Until further studies are done it looks like the ideal coffee consumption is 2 cups pre ride (lots of data on this - "you are crazy if you don't do it" kind of data) and 5 cups after. I'...

I'm in too and I know there are a few others interested. We did a Sunday ride today and most of the people there couldn't commit to the two other big rides going on tomorrow but do have time for a regular recreational 70 km Sunday ride.
see you there,
Eric

Re: VCL Safety
Stephan, That's a great idea. However, it may be best if there was also a VCL initiative so that everyone else in the race has had some instruction. When I raced in Vancouver in the mid 1980's the cycle league offered a general safety course for all cat 5 riders, which covered a lot of topics. It wa...

Re: Cycling to Parksville July 24th
Alan and I plan to leave fairfield tomorrow at 6:20ish, via DT, blue bridge, Goose to Switch bridge, out to interurban, to West Saan Rd, to Brentwood for the 7:30 ferry. Michael Lawless plans to join us for the first leg to Duncan. The ride from Mill Bay to Duncan on the back roads is very nice - I ...

Re: A taste of the bigger group- Thanks to TSr's helping out
Lister, No problem. I enjoyed helping out and think there is benefit to having more than one experienced club member ride with your group so we can coach a bit while riding with them and not just pulling them. In general I think it is a good idea if more than one A rider always rides with the B's an...

My hamstring is more inflammed than your hamstring. In case the person with the algorithm needs this for calculating our handicap my age is 48. We have a lot a new keen riders. It would be great to see more planning to attend the TTT. This is a safe relatively non-competetive way to do some racing a...
