Re: TS Dove Creek Masters Project

I don't have many cycling strengths but the one aspect I do master is cornering and cornering tactics. Years of competitive auto and motorcycle racing has given me a big advantage on that end. A ton of confidence can be gained from understanding the physics of tire design and tractive grip force vs ...

Windsor Crit - July 8th

For all those C racers that had a go at the last Windsor race, there will be a smaller field of the C group as a number (myself included) that will be away at the Axel Merckx GF in Penticton that weekend. I know that about three of the O2 guys will be riding with me. So, for those that want a second...

Re: Caleb Pike June27

Well the C group report isn't too exciting as we only had 4 TS'rs (Paul C, David B, Chris MacLeod and myself) verses the usual gang of PC and 5 of the O2 team. I jumped out front to get the pace up and then settled into the third wheel position. Meanwhile David mounted 3 short break attempts which w...

Re: Latoria RR report

Well that was a problem. :) especially that it was 9 laps but you had a really strong 8th. But what's one stinking lap between friends??
Bet it won't happen again!

Latoria RR report

We had a total of 6 TS entries in the C group. The initial plan evaporated fairly quickly as everyone got racey right out of the gate. A total of 20 entries with 5 O2's and a bunch of ProCity riders made for a actively mixing bunch. A few small/ weak breaks had no effect and it was lining up for a b...

Re: Breakaway and Chase Practice, Friday 15th

From the B1 group, I also enjoyed the drills. A couple of things I noticed was that both the attack and chase groups benefit immensely from tight coordinated pace lines. Both groups looked a bit ragtag in places and lost momentum. For the larger chase group with multiple attacks, it's important to c...

Western VICTORY!!

TS "C" pack managed a big upset last night. Huge efforts by Simon, Vanesa and Richie. The balance of us were mixed in the field enough to confuse and keep the other teams from organizing at the cruicial time. O2 and Procity both had 6 or 7 per team and had a strategy of dominating the fron...

Re: Mill Bay Masters June 10th

As per Stephane, I decided to get more bang for the buck and headed out for the Masters. It seems it's always a tough race as two hours of pounding takes a toll. I was quickly dropped by the 40 year group ( hat off to Steve B for winning the Neild Rd HC before schooling us at this race) and was look...

Thanks...

Re: URGENT - volunteers needed Metchosin Race Sun May 27

I came out and helped marshall last year. It was pretty relaxing and easy to do. This year I'm planning on racing and trying to rope one of our kids into volunteering. (Not a lot of motivation in seeing Dad in spandex) Will keep you posted if she agrees.

Re: Newton Heights May 23rd

Well, from the C group side of things, I believe we had 8 suckers for the punishment. Jen was our strong rider for TS and another younger rider came out - didn't get his name yet - he would'nt wait up for me and I believe he won the race! Two laps in and I knew it was going to be painful. I tried go...

Re: Windsor Park - May 20th

Allison and I are planning on it. Hoping for dry conditions. The race starts at 8:30 and you should be there by 8am to get registered. Cost is $10. Maybe the TS'ers for the "C" race should plan on a few mins earlier to discuss what to expect/strategies etc? Certainly makes a difference if ...
