Re: GranFondo

John, Another Rolling Stone-worthy write-up! If you guys rolled out with TNA, you were in good company. I have a friend in the club and rode with them a couple of times last month. On top of being probably the only other BC club to have white, baby blue and pink in their kit colour scheme, they ride...

Re: looking for a 8 spd shimano or sram 12-25 or 12-17 casse

Lister, A 12-17 8 spd cassette! Takes the straight block to a whole new level! I might be able to help if you can forego the 12.. I have a custom Shimano Ultegra (HG90) 8 spd cassette from Harris Cyclery to sell. Tooth count: 13/14/15/17/19/21/23/26. I also have a matching SRAM PC-58 8 spd chain. Bo...

Jeremy, If you're comfortable with torrents ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BitTorrent_(protocol) ), visit the http://cyclingtorrents.nl/browse.php site to download entire advert-free stages from ITV, Eurosport, and Versus. And, if you're curious about how "hors categorie" sounds in Swedish...

Re: Best place for tuneup

Can't say enough good things about Max at Fairfield, but his praise has been roundly sung above.. Surprised, though, that Troy at Trek / Pro City in Esquimalt didn't merit a mention. I used to be a mechanic at Fairfield Bikes and still take most of my work to Max and the guys, but Troy's attention t...

Re: Tech stuff - Compact cranks

Barry, I run both: 52 / 39 rings with a 13-23 10 spd cassette on my Gios (we used to ride 52 / 42s back in the, er, 80s - the lower gear ratio forces me to spin) and a 50 / 34 compact paired with a 11-23 on my summer bike. Prefer the aesthetics of the compact, and that's about it. The other guys cov...

Galen: Looks so good I'm going to have to buy a bumper with a car so I can display our colours..
I'm with Rolf:
My ideal would be # 2 with the black lettering and a white background, and the addition of the "predawn..." line.

Hey guys, If you have the chance, roll down to Hampshire and Oak Bay ave to support Kim and Joe's efforts to raise some cash for cancer research. Lots of riders in TripleShot jerseys by the time I left, including Mike L causing women to swoon (and throw money at him) by spinning to a cadence of 174!!
