Re: The Bike Build thread.

Well its nearly complete! I bought the frame and fork off eBay. Most of the parts of ChainReaction in the UK. I will end up replacing the pedals tires and water bottle cages over time. Until I could select and afford wheels, I have been riding it with Brad's borrowed HED Bastones. Brad's timly start...

I'll likely be up for it with new wheels this time! Last sunday I broke a spoke and only made it 65kms.

Sunday ride extra distance

Just an FYI if anyone is interested in a few extra KMS on the normal ride I am planning on heading past the farm at Island View out to through Sydney and loop around the ferry terminal. It will likely cut into my coffee time but I need the extra KMS.

PS bring you sun screen :)

Re: Ultergra vs DuraAce vs Scram Red

I'll weigh since I have just purchased Dura Ace 7900 for my Cervelo. My Soma has Ultegra \ Dura Ace mixed 9-speed which I have been riding for the last 10 years (various bikes). The difference...for me...hmm.. I can't really give a wow type answer between the two. Yes positively the 10 speed 7900 is...

Re: How much longer will this tire hold air?

Hi Lister, I'll take a boot! I have 2-3 mm cut in my one ride old $75 conti gp 4000s that didn't play nice with a tire patch, duct tape or electrical tape on the inside. For the record ... I only inflated it and left it over night to find it popped out or bulged to the point I deemed unsafe to ride....

Re: Ryder's Tour de Victoria Registration Opens Mon. Jan.10-

I paid my $168 as entrant number 60 at few minutes before twelve today. Since it is not a race I won't have to worry about having a 100 or so people in front of me at the end! :D

There was a request to post the Garmin stats from the Sunday ride so here they be!

http://connect.garmin.com/activity/56010191

The overall average after the sprint on Interurban was 30.1. for 81.2 kms not too shappy for a 'winter ride' See max temp of 23 c!

Re: Accident this morning on Pat Bay Highway- it's just a fl

Hi All, First off thanks all for the well wishes and visits. Mark is doing well and is in good spirits. All he keeps saying is "I'm fine". Which really reminds me of the knight in "The Wholly Grail". It's just a flesh wound...what it's nothing. He is up and mobile which I didn't ...

I'll see if the gang likes the course. It might not be muddy enough for my 19 month old but the other two don't mind the sun;)

Since it's at the end off my street maybe it should be my first cross ride!

Re: GranFondo

I really enjoyed the WGF! Similar reports to everyone else... I rode mostly solo since I wasn't too sure how things would go for me. In the end I was really happy with my 4:16 time. Train has been pretty light over the summer with family commitments. I thought the day was going to go horribly wrong ...

Re: anyone familiar with online bike shopping?

I built up my Soma double cross (frame and fork bought locally at OBB) using chain reactions online retailer. shipping was free and the where no extra charges. Overall it was quick and cost effective. It was fun to spec out a bike a la cart with parts often at a significant savings. That said i tota...

Group support - Thank You!

Hi, All I just wanted to give a thanks to everyone in the TS club for their support over the last week. On Friday, I have had the misfortune of multiple flats and had the club stop for me and assist me getting back on my way (thanks Gavin). Again today, I had great encouragement (Brad, Dad and other...

Re: TS A+ Ride Guide

I am just a rookie so I may be totally out to lunch ... but I thought a Time Trial the whole group has to come in and it is the last riders time that is counted. That would keep everyone together ...if that was the intent.
