Re: Giro_Sardinia_Sardegna

There's a reduce rate for the Giro for another 60 days. I was on the site just to check dates, so I didn't get the details (i.e., rates before and after 60 days), but if you are thinking about it, maybe try to decide before Christmas.

Re: Giro_Sardinia_Sardegna

Training is up to you, sort of. There is a 'broom wagon'. There's also a 'fondo'.

https://www.girosardegna.com A six-day stage race. The closest thing any of us will ever get to racing in a grand tour..... unless you're young, leave TripleShot to become a professional and participate in international stage races. OK, closest thing many of us will ever get to racing in a grand tou...

Re: Interest in Racing as a Team

Andrew, no one thinks you're capable of a rant. Don't shatter the illusion. Let's pick a race and do the team thing.

Re: Canadian Master's National Road Race Championships

I really felt a Tripleshot 'family' thing this weekend - thanks everyone. Congratulations, to others that raced, to everyone that volunteered and especially to our new National Champions.

Re: Crash on the Sunday ride

Durrance=WallaceDr_2_WestSaanichRd.jpeg Durrance Road looks like a connection between Wallace (before the bad section) and West Saanich Rd. Has anyone ridden it? Is it an option? Maybe split the pack at the Butchart Gardens stopsign and then have one group make this left turn. We all meet up at the...

Re: Crash on the Sunday ride

My feeling is that single file is best there.... one person on the front for the entire section.. everyone else can treat it as a break before the observatory climb. Maybe even a designated 'caboose' - several people appear to ride with back light mounted all year. Big groups could break into two at...

Re: Thursday TTT pedestrian safety

I think a marshal is 'overkill', there are too many cross-walks, but if UVic are willing (unlikely but possible), we could place pylons at each cross-walk with small 'bike-race' notices. This is, after all, only 1 hour a week and UVic likes to think of itself as a community resource. Such a recognit...

Re: Thursday TTT pedestrian safety

It would be foolish to disagree with anything Martin wrote, ...but......that's the most dangerous crosswalk on campus. I have never crossed there (15 years) without some concern about being hit. Buses never slow down and basically dare anyone to step out. Certainly, from the perspective of the pedes...

Just a thought...

Masters Nationals Course: Meet at Clover Pt. at 6 am and leave at 30 sec intervals? Maybe someone can run a list of depart and arrival times? Coffee at PV with the TTT people.

On the sufferfest ride this morning I did a pull, rolled to the back, and then from the back, looked behind me to see where we were as far as following cars were concerned. Bad timing. The group slowed and I ran into the back of James, I think it was James (I'll edit this if I am wrong). My wheel ca...

Re: VCL#6

Despite a less that perfect forecast, we had the largest turn out so far last night, 76 racers. Big thank you to David Hill and Mark Ford for their hard work at the registration 'desk'. The C race finish was a little confusing, sorry to those who weren't sure what was going on. A group of seven lapp...

Thanks for all of the nice comments (VCL#5 thread). I am back here (the TS Racing forum) for the first time since last week and only just noticed. Great that this is working out for lots of people. Tomorrow is the third of four Speedway races. It looks like the forecast has improved a little. My adv...

Re: VCL#5

Excellent evening of racing. Lots of racers in each category. There was a crash in the B race that resulted in some look-the-other-way road rash, which will going to hurt like hell in the shower, but not stop anyone from racing next week ;-). Great A-race with a 3-man breakaway - launched by Andrew ...

The Speedway races this evening start at 6 pm. Sign-up at 5:30 pm. C race is first. B race at 6:30 pm and A race at about 7:10 pm. Note, we reduced the entry fee last week (from $15 to $10) to reduce the impact of the $8 (one-time) charge for numbers and racing chips. It's $15 this week (and an addi...

Huge thank you to Roxanne Stedman and Joe Barrett. Quite a few first-timers, which is always fun. About 60 participants altogether. Great racing - very close finishes in all three races. Some more volunteers next week would be helpful.

Speedway Races (April 25th) 5:30 pm: sign-in open EDIT: I missed the important point that there is an additional $8.00 (one time fee for number and chip). To offset that expense, for tonight only, the Tripleshot portion of the fee will be REDUCED from $10 to $5. So, $5.00 (Tripleshot) + $5.00 (Timin...
