Re: TTT and ITT Champs - time to Harden Up!

Does anyone have advice, knowledge about the ITT course? There's actually a 21.7˚ pitch at about 22.5km (mile 13.9 on the course map: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/582421). Does this in any way compare with the Nanaimo RR course?

Let's just hope that for tall people, the commissaire is short, and that for short people, he or she is tall.

Re: Track is back!

Hi, for those of you interested in match sprinting (who isn't?!), here's a post on my site by national sprinter Jamie Shankland: http://emilederosnay.com/2011/05/20/lea ... -sprint-2/
There, he talks about sprinting strategy and technique.

Sorry, should have said something here sooner. I will be doing a training ride instead, starting early because my wife has to catch an earlier ferry.

Have a great race!

Re: \westside Classic

Just google street viewed the entire circuit. Holy cow, that's a nice circuit. Feels like it's 80% out in the countryside. It's a pretty sweet course, starting on a broad avenue near UBC and heading downhill, and you can get to 70kph on it; then there's a fast flat (above 50kph) that's the left sid...

Mill Bay RR (BCMCA) - anyone want to ride there and back?

Hi, Would anyone like to join me for a ride to Mill Bay and back on Sunday for the BCMCA road race? It's about 50km from my door in Oak Bay, so a total of about 170km for the day. I'll probably leave at about 9am, to give myself some time. I'm using this mileage to prepare for Westside the following...

From what I saw in the elite race Adam got caught in the case group with only him and Rob britton not having teammates in the breakout, it looked like red truck who had 4 in the chase and hr block who had 2 were doing some great blocking, rob managed to get on the front of the chase and pull the 25...

Re: Race the Ridge 2011

Hey,

If anybody needs a ride to Race the Ridge and back, I can take one person. No accommodation, though, but I can take you to where you need to get. I will catch the 7pm ferry Friday.

Cheers,

Re: The Adam Project

Hi, Great initiative! I will be going as well, and the elite nats are at the same time as the U23 (June 23-26). My sister lives in Etobicoke (West T.O.) and not far from Burlington, so that's an option — plus we can help out with transportation from the airport. However, Adam might want to contact m...

Re: What is the best saddle

I agree with all that has been said here, that: - saddles are very individual - Specialized makes great saddles - you should try demos - Toupé is an unfortunate name for a great saddle (although I believe that it's spelled "toupet") In the last 5 years I have ridden 8 different saddles: Sa...

Re: Track cyclist vs race horse

Yeah, greyhounds are awesome. Secretariats belmont stakes race finishing speed was clocked at 49MPH. Apparently the horses generally have about a 1/4 mile flat out sprint in them at the end, and before that the jockey has to manage the pacing so they don't blow up. The track cyclist would definitel...

Re: Race the Ridge 2011

About the Golden Ears TT course... You might want to get some TT practice on the Nanaimo River Road course. The NRR course is similarly hilly: climbing on the way out and on the way back, and then a very fast (70kph +) downhill to the finish. A TT bike is better on both courses, especially with the ...
