Hi Mark- thanks so much; I should have reposted but I've been able to get a cheap flight up so I'm good. Thanks very much.
Cheers,
Chris

Ride share to Ironman?
Hi- I'm doing IMC in Penticton but my family can't make it up till the day before the race (two kids in summer camp)- but registration closes end of Friday. If anybody knows of other folks heading up with spare room for one person/bike I'd be delighted to share all trip costs. I'm best reached at wa...

Re: Hurricane Ridge BC day
Dave- ack, I'm now a miss for the Ridge ride this long week-end- juggling social/work/training stuff so have to postpone this. Shame- forecast looks good. This would make a great Indian Summer ride in Sept though...I'll re-post then to see if any interest.
Cheers,
Chris

Re: Hurricane Ridge BC day
Dave- home office approval confirmed. Is it possible/feasible to ride it twice and still make the 12:45 ferry? Not familiar with the stats on this ride but sounds like 17 miles, 5240 feet vertical. We'd have about 4.5 hours so I imagine it's pretty tight or impossible. Keen to ride twice if anyone e...

Re: Maximum Vertical Pain Adventure!
Epic day gents; it was a great ride in every way. Josh, Mat, Simon, Mike L., Barton- thanks. Simon- awesome job doing it on heavy bike- and on those tires- man oh man. I agree this was just a first attempt to max out the vertical/horizontal ratio. Some thoughts in the ongoing quest for 10,000 feet o...

Below a link to data on some but not all of the local climbs (thanks Roland for that link a few weeks back): http://www.strava.com/climbs-by-country/canada/british-columbia/victoria Doesn't include Malahat/Goldstream Ridge and probably a few others I'm forgetting right now. After last week's hilly S...

Maximum Vertical Pain Adventure!
After yesterday's Mountain Madness ride a few of us got to discussing other routes that would pack in even more vertical. Yesterday's ride had about 1500 metres of climb over about 102 km (Dave S. has the exact numbers) One tweak of the current MM ride we discussed: Malahat > Mill Bay > Malahat >rig...
