Re: FS: Dion Road Bike

Sorry about that Lister - I had a couple of missed calls on my phone recently, but didn't know who they were from... Could have been Evan.

Re: CycleOps Turbo Trainer

Rolf, if you're looking for a bargain, seriously, you can have our car for $4400. It's a steal. And much more fun than the turbo trainer.

Re: CycleOps Turbo Trainer

A car. Rita suggested we sell it for $50, but I think that's a bit cheap.

Re: CycleOps Turbo Trainer

It's yours, Roland. And yes, $40. We're in that "dispose of stuff so you don't have to pay to ship it half way round the world" mode. And I knew it would be a lovely TS person who would buy it, so was happy to let it go cheap. If I'd known it would be you that got in first though, I'd have...

CycleOps Turbo Trainer

We've got a CycleOps Fluid 2 (?) turbo to sell. About $400 new, you can have it for $40. It will give you many hours of turboing "pleasure"...

Just in case you don't know what one of these little torture devices looks like, there's a picture here.

Cheers,

Ian.

For sure, Lister. I was actually thinking it might not be a bad deal for one of your lads or lasses.

FS: Dion Road Bike

We're moving to Montpellier in France in March, so need to thin our stable out a little for the move. (Besides, I'm going to need to get something a bit more Euro if we're going to start road riding again in France...) So I'm selling my bike: Dion scandium frame (54 cm) Dura-Ace brakes and rear dera...

Re: Spending Club Funds

I very much agree with what Lister and Al say. TS is more a community than a cycling club, and coaching and development are a great way for us to expand that community, as well as publicising just how awesome TS is. To my mind, the ideal use for the money that our sponsors give us isn't necessarily ...

Re: TSr's at Test of Metal

But could you be tempted by the Campbell River 50k? I'm not sure when it is, but I think Glen is planning to go, and we're toying with the idea. Supposed to be some sweet trails up there...

Re: TSr's at Test of Metal

I thought that video was going to be of highlights from the race, but it's just a continuous single take of lots of people riding up the road around one corner! Tell the truth: they were sneaking out of the top and heading back in the bottom, weren't they? Anyway, next year, you'll be doing 12HoC, w...

Twelve Hours of Cumberland

Just a small TS showing at this one, but at least one of us did an AWESOME job. The format is: as many laps of a ca. 8.5 km course through the woods above Cumberland in 12 hours as possible, either in teams of four or two (one rider out at a time) or solo. The course was pretty technical, with a lot...

Re: Rules for welcoming new riders

Hey, Rita made a funny! I've been off Friday rides (and all other rides!) for a while, but this morning wasn't what I remember TS rides being like. We had new people (including high school students) of varying abilities. That makes stopping at the tops of hills important: coasting over the top is fi...

Re: Holiday weekend rides

If I can remember how to ride a bicycle, I could very well be tempted by some cyclocrossy action. We've shelved our plans to go to Hornby Island for the weekend...

And Lister's plan to "do it backwards" sounds good.

Re: A few Thoughts (ok, call it whining)

I agree with everything Mike says. Well, not in general, of course, but in this post at least. This morning was pretty crazy. It didn't feel like a TS ride at all until about Arbutus, when some of the grown-ups took charge. From then on, things were fine, so a big thank you to whoever it was who sti...

Re: Spring Training...........

Yikes. That all sounds very scientific and organised and everything. I'm glad I'm not good enough to worry about that sort of nonsense. Race plans: as many mountain bike races as I can make it to, including a solo effort for 12 Hours of Cumberland; cyclocross (why are those races only in the autumn,...
